Digital Fortress, Inc., www.dfcolo.com, a newly formed operator of datacenter colocation facilities announced today the selection of Paul Gerrard as Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Gerrard will be responsible for the strategic direction, leadership and management of Digital Fortress.
Mark Hughes, Digital Fortress’ chairman, said the board enthusiastically and unanimously selected Mr. Gerrard based on his extensive experience and deep understanding of the colocation, cloud computing industry, his participation in successful leadership teams, his track record in leading productive sales and marketing organizations, as well as his strong executive and personal qualities.
“Our search for a new leader for Digital Fortress has been focused and thorough to meet our strategic objective to continue to build upon the strong legacy foundation of digital.forest and Fortress Colocation,” said Hughes. “Both the Investor Group and I are pleased to have someone of Gerrard’s caliber leading the charge.”

About Paul Gerrard – Most recently, Gerrard was the EVP of Sales & Marketing for ViaWest, one of the largest privately held datacenter, cloud computing, and managed service providers in North America. During his two year tenure at ViaWest Gerrard was successful in building a strong team that grew bookings significantly while completing an award winning rebranding initiative.
Gerrard previously served in leadership roles for managed services providers including SunGard Availability Services, mindSHIFT Technologies, and Inflow. Gerrard spent over 20 years in sales and sales management at Hewlett Packard where he demonstrated substantial skills in management, a passionate dedication for customer support, and deep knowledge of solution selling methodologies.
Gerrard graduated from the University of Phoenix with a BS in Business Administration.
